Side Ponytails
Side ponytails placed high on the head are a style common to little girls and cheerleaders. But, it is becoming more popular for teenagers and women to place two ponytails low on the back of the head. Wear them when you want to look fun and casual. Do not wear them for business affairs or you won't be taken seriously. Below are directions for this popular style.

Step #1
Gently brush through the hair so that it can be easily pulled apart. Separate the hair in the back of the head into 2 sections. You can either use the small tooth comb to make a "hard" part down the back of the middle of the head, or you can just gently separate the two sides from each other. I prefer the second method to the first in women above the age of 15 because it is a little bit softer, and more mature than the severe part down the back of the head common to little girls and cheerleaders.
Step #2
Clip the hair on the left side of the head.
Step #3 Use one of the elastic ponytail holders to secure the hair on the right side of the head. Pull the hair through the loop of the elastic, and then flip the elastic around once so that it makes another loop. Pull the hair through this new loop. Continue flipping the elastic and pulling the hair through the loop until it is secure. 
Remove the hair clip from the left side and secure with the other ponytail holder. (This is just a repeat of step #3 but now on the left side). Tip: Don't secure the elastic up close to the scalp, let the holders secure the hair down an inch or so from the scalp for a softer look.
Optional - Step #5 Curl the ponytails in spiral curls for a fun look.
Side ponytails are a great option for wearing with hats. Use a cowboy hat to sport a modern "western" look.
