Sedu Hairstyles

Sedu hairstyles can be recognized by smooth, straight, and shiny looking hair.

Although Sedu styles are characterized as being straight, the ends of the hair can either flip up, under, or to the side.

Sedu hair can be worn down or in a variety of combinations of updos or half-up, half-down hairdos.

Sedu is the brand name for a certain type of flat iron. Sedu has gotten a lot of recognition because Jennifer Aniston's hairstylist mentioned that he used this on her in a magazine. Although Sedu has gotten all of the name recognition, these sleek hairdos can be created by other high-end flat irons. These irons create a shiny look and a silky feel to your hair.

Why don't I use the Sedu?

As you can see from the pictures on this website, I use the GHD flat iron. My hairstylist tried this on my hair and let me borrow her GHD. My hair is already stick straight, but the GHD created wonderful body and lift in my hair. It actually made my hair feel thicker and when I use it to curl my hair, the curls are bouncy and full.

Needless to say, I was hooked! I saved my money and purchased the GHD. To tell the truth, I didn't even explore Sedu, Solia, or Chi irons. I didn't see any need after I experienced the great results I had with the GHD.

So for the sake of simplicity, I call all styles created with a flat iron “Sedu” styles,...

even though I use the GHD to create these effects. If you have a Sedu, FHI, or Chi iron, you can simply follow all of the hair instructions on this site, and I'm sure it will work for you too!

Here are before and after pictures that show the effectiveness of a flat-iron on my daughter who has naturally thick, wavy hair and her friend who has extremely curly hair:

If you have extremely curly or coarse, thick hair (like the girl above) – use the 1 ½ inch straightening iron to shorten the time needed to straighten. If your hair is just normal thickness or wavy, you will be fine with a 1 inch flat iron.
