Easy Holiday Hair Style
Did you look great at a holiday event? Submit a photo of your hairstyle here.

This holiday hair style is very easy to do, takes little time and is a great holiday style as it includes a side bow. It works best on very long hair but we show you how to do it on hair that is a reasonable length. I also think that this hairstyle turns out better if you have a thicker texture to your hair because the braid will be thicker, thereby making the chignon look larger.
Materials Needed - Bobby pins the shade of your hair
- Two Elastic ponytail holders
- Hairspray
- A long (around 2-3 feet) ribbon in a color to match your outfit (you can pick this up at a craft store or in the sewing section of Walmart.)
- Optional: A ponytail hair extension to make your chignon braid fuller.
Step #1 Pull all of your hair into a low ponytail in the back of your head

Step #2 Slip the ribbon under the rubber band so it hangs out about 6 inches above the ponytail.
Step #3Separate the hair into 3 equal sections. Let the ribbon be included in the middle section.

Step #4 Braid the hair. To braid, place the right section over the middle section (which includes the ribbon) and then take the left section and place that over the middle section. Continue to place right over middle/left over middle until you run out of hair. Secure the ends with another elastic band. The braid should look like this:

Step #5 Coil the braid up and around the ponytail holder making a circle. Try to make the end of the braid end stop by the top of the ponytail holder (near the ribbon that is hanging out the top of the ponytail). Tuck the ends of the braid under. Secure with bobby pins.
Step #6Tie the two ends of the ribbon together into a bow. Adjust the bow so that it is on the side of the chignon (coiled up braid).
