This is a great flower girl hair style if you want one that holds up well on high-energy, wiggly-squiggly little girls. But, it also is a great style for women as it tends to be flattering on almost anyone.
- 2 Rubber bands the shade of your hair color
- Bobby pins
- Either a high-end flat-iron that curls - such as the GHD, or a curling iron
- Optional: Hair flowers, tiara or hair jewels
Step #1
Part hair from ear to ear in the front and clip this hair up on top of the forehead.

Step #2
Put hair in the back into two ponytails. One high on the head and another beneath this ponytail.

Step #3
Take a small section of hair (½ to one inch – depending upon the thickness of the hair) and curl it with a curling iron using the
spiral curl
technique, or use the GHD iron to curl the hair. I choose to use the GHD iron because in fine hair (such as the model here), the GHD iron seems to “thicken” up the hair.

Step #4
Let the spiral curl lay on the head and bobby-pin the middle of the curl to the head while leaving the ends out. Gently separate the ends of the curl with your fingers to widen out the hair.

Step #5
Continue to curl and pin all of the hair around the top ponytail. Let the curled ends hang out and make sure that you have worked around the entire face of the ponytail holder so that none of the elastic is showing.

Step #6
Do the same with the lower ponytail. Make sure that the hair on the top of the lower ponytail connects up with the top ponytail's curls.

Step #7
Once both ponytails are pinned and curled, gently spray and move curled ends of hair with your fingers to fill in holes and make sure the back looks symmetrical.

Step #8
Let the front of hair and bangs down. Take ½ to one inch sections of hair and curl. Bobby pin each curl individually back and into the mass of curls already pinned.

Step #9
Once all curls are pinned back, make sure that you use your fingers and hairspray to move curls into place.
Fill in holes and spread out the curls with your fingers to make a “fuller” effect. This is especially important if the hair is thin, such as is common in many little girls.
Remember to leave a few tendrils of hair down on the side of the face to soften the look.
Step #10
If the flower girl has bangs, spray a fine-tooth comb with hairspray and gently comb the bangs over to one side.
Spray well with hairspray, although this flower girl hair style has proven to last through a long wedding day.
Optional: Add hair flowers, tiara or hair jewels
