Fishtail Braid

The fishtail braid, is also known as the herringbone braid. It is an easy braid to do, and the only material needed to make this braid is an elastic ponytail holder to secure the end of the braid.

Make sure that the hair is brushed and free of tangles before you start. It is easiest to start the hair from a ponytail, but it is not necessary.

Step #1 Submit a picture of your braided hairstyle here.

Divide the hair you want to braid into two equal parts.

Step #2

Grab a small section of hair from the right side of the right section. Pull this hair over to the left section thereby, joining it with the left section.

Step #3

Grab a small section of hair from the left side of the left section. Pull this hair over to the right section (joining it to the right section).

Step #4

Repeat steps 2 and 3 until you run out of hair. Secure with an elastic ponytail holder.
