Easy Hair Style for Busy Mornings

Want an easy hair style that will help you get off to a beautiful start in the least amount of time?

Preparation - The key to saving time in the morning is preparation. If you know what style you want in advance, you will not waste time trying out different things with your hair and getting more and more frustrated because you can not figure out a style that works.

Have a Plan - Some women have a "wardrobe" plan for their week. They plan out each day what they will wear. I encourage you to do that, but also, add a hairstyles plan with it. This is helpful because if you know that you have a job interview on Wednesday, you will plan a nice suit or outfit along with a sleek and professional updo. If you know in advance what you will do, the morning prep is simple and easy.

Accessorize It! - If you are short on time in the morning, I encourage you to have on hand a variety of accessories that go with your different outfits. Hair accessories turn simple styles into beautiful works of art. Have on hand a variety of headbands, jeweled barrettes, funky ponytail holders, hair sticks, hair flowers and even bandannas - depending on your outfit and style.

Here is a simple and easy hair style plan that will turn out a myriad of styles using your hair accessories. You must have medium length or longer hair to do this:

We are going to create a nice base of full, bouncy curls. To save time, we are going to set your curls the night before, so that when you wake up you will not need to spend much time in the bathroom getting ready.

Step #1

Make sure that your hair is dry. Take all of your hair into a ponytail that sits on the top of your head, and secure it with a "scrunchy". Do not use an elastic rubber band or you will have dents in your hair when you take it out in the morning.

Step #2

Take 1-1.5 inch sections of hair from the ends of your ponytail and wrap them around some foam rollers. If you like your hair really curly, use more rollers and take smaller sections of hair. If you just want some body and a nice wave, use less rollers and wrap larger sections of hair per roller.

Step #3

Go to sleep! The beauty of putting the ponytail on top of your head is that you will not have to lay on the rollers. You should not feel any discomfort.

Step #4

Wake up and take out the rollers and the ponytail. You should have lots of body from having your hair up all night with beautifully rounded ends.

You have several options at this point: You can leave your hair the way it is, you can put it in two low ponytails, you can put your hair in a low side ponytail, you can take one side back with a jeweled barrette, you can put a wide headband in, or you can put braids in and stop half way down. Use those accessories and your options are limitless. Just have a plan for how you will style your hair in the morning or you could spend lots of time trying different ways.

Here are some of the different options we tried:
