Cheap Hair Extensions

If you are looking for cheap hair extensions that look realistic, and give you length and volume without the time and money commitment of traditional bonded extensions, try the ones Hollywood hairstylist Ken Paves sells called Hairdo.

Consider the cost of hair extensions:

Human hair extensions - Salon installed

Traditional human hair extensions put in by a licensed cosmetologist typically costs between $150-300 for installation of a partial head of extensions plus the cost of the hair. The total cost could be between $400 and $800, and then you need to have them reapplied every 4-6 months as the hair grows out. This maintenance fee will typically cost the same as having the new extensions put in (between 150-300), but, if you bought high quality human hair, the hair can often be reused.

A full head of extensions can run between $600-$4000 - depending on the type of hair, and if extensions are added for fullness, length, or both.

Some bonding techniques may also require monthly maintenance to keep the bond in good shape. This runs approximately $20 per month.

Human hair extensions - clip on

These type of extensions typically run between $90-450, but you never need to have the maintenance of salon installed extensions since they can easily be put in or taken out of the hair.

These extensions can be colored by you or your stylist to match your current hair color and can be curled or straightened just like normal hair.

Synthetic hair extensions - clip on

These hair extensions typically run between $10 (for small, hair pieces) to $150.

These extensions can not be colored like real human hair extensions, so you need to be careful in choosing the correct color, and know that if you change your current hair color, you will need to buy new extensions.

Most synthetic hair extensions can not be styled with heat tools, or it will ruin the hair, but Ken Paves sells synthetic hair extensions called Bump Up the Volume that can be curled or straightened with styling tools up to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

Here is a video of how these extensions work:

I love these hair extensions because of the price, quality and the ability to give me height and volume on the top of my head without back-combing - which is so damaging to the hair.

If you are concerned about purchasing the right color, try the color ring loan program. This allows you to get a color ring to match your current hair for a fee that is returned to you when you return the color ring.
