Braided Hairstyles

Braided hairstyles go back to the beginning of time. They do not require electricity from heat styling tools, nor do they require hair products (unless desired to "smooth out" frizzy braids). Braiding your hair is a nice break from your regular hairstyle, and braids can make you look casual, youthful, or even elegant if incorporated into a nice updo.

It has become popular to incorporate some smaller braids into an updo or chignon. Here is a Hairstyles Teacher favorite:

Try this Holiday Hair Style. It is a braided chignon that is easy to do and will make you look festive at all the holiday parties.

Use braids to give your hair a break from styling tools and products and to keep your hair up and out of the way for more strenuous events such as exercise or sports. It is especially cute to part your hair down the middle and have two braids in the back on each side of your head.

This looks great under bandanas or hats also.
